Cutie Pies!

How cute are these kids?!! I spent the day on Saturday visiting with my friend Kelly and her twin girls, Brianna and Corinne. We had a great time and took so many photos! They all came out great and I have a ton of new ones to scrap with. Stay tune for layouts to come this week with these cutie pies!

On the way out to visit them I stopped by the bookstore and came upon this new book, Adverbs. I’m not too sure what it’s about but I thought the cover was really cool and graphic. I liked the illustrations and colors. I thought for a second to buy it but I have a hard enough time reading magazines these days! Although I finally did catch up on all my magazines this weekend. Some of them were from March! I subscribe to so many, too many if you ask my husband but I like them. Anyways I need to be better about reading them and would love to make some time someday to read books again! Ahhh, someday! =P

Cool Banner

Saw this banner online this morning and thought it was cool. City Harvest has some cool ads and direct mail pieces too. Plus the site is green…which is a nice bonus!!

Finally!

Finally I finished gallering up all the credits for my first custom scrapbook and posted it online! Let me tell you what I pain it was a month later to figure out what I used and where I got it from. My advice to anyone is to credit right after you do you layouts. LOL! Anyways, check out the book. It’s mostly all there with expectation of two pages that we left blank for photos customization.

So National Scrapbooking Day is next Saturday, May 5! Exciting stuff! Be sure to stop by My Digital Muse for some fun and exciting things going on. I think I heard something about a FREE KIT for participants!! He he he!

Thank goodness it’s Friday is all I have to say! I’m hoping to work on website redesigns soon now that I posted this book. Web design is tedious and time consuming to say the least!

Have a good weekend!

Bridal Shower Design Package

This past weekend was my friend, Rebecca’s bridal shower. It was a good time and a successful event I think. All the printed pieces I did to match the invitations came out great, which you can see in the photo. I’m going to try to buy a commercial license for the illustration in hopes to offer all this stuff as a Bridal Shower Design package. What do you think?

Bride illustration from Holly Jones bought from istock.com. Chef elements on recipe card from istock.com as well.

I Miss Men in Trees!

I miss Men in Trees..the show not actual men in trees. LOL! I am happy to hear that it was picked up for another season though. I also hear it should be back early May…so soon!

Speaking of shows, I was quite disappointed with Heroes the other night. I dare say that I’m enjoying Lost more these days. Maybe it’s because we are finally gettting answers. We’ll see how long that lasts though…need to watch last night’s episode still! =P

Love Your Smile

I thought I would do a layout using some photos of my niece, Eleanor. These pictures are somewhat old but super cute. I’m working on getting some newer photos of her to work with. Not that I’m sick of doing layouts with the same children and babies but it’s good to have variety. And between family and friends there seems to be an abundance of kids to scrap! =)

Love Your Smile

Been so busy today…so this is all I have time for. Talk to you soon!

Rules for Combining Typefaces

type.png

I came across this article the other day and thought it would be a good thing to share you with you guys. The ability to successfully combine typefaces is clearly a valuable design skill. But with over 100,000 fonts to choose from, the task can seem daunting. The good news is that there are four basic rules for combining different typeface designs. Follow these and you are well on your way to successful typographic mixology!

Best Gift Ever!

My first custom scrapbook was presented this weekend to the recipient and I got this email today from the client about it.

“She loved the scrapbook she actually cried when she saw it. It was very very nice and she actually said it was the best gift she had gotten!!”

And I’m going to post this book this week…really…

Anways, I wanted to share that good news. It makes me happy to hear that she was pleased with the book! Woo hoo!

Anyone else want a scrapbook? =)
