Here’s another layout that I recently did for the Stand Up & Scrap Contest. This is the last week and I didn’t even get to work on anything. I’ve been a mad women creating lots of NEW goodies for my GRAND OPENING this weekend! Lots of awesome new products which I’m so excited about. Tomorrow is the last day that MDM is open. Make sure to make any final purchases from this wonderful shop tomorrow. I’m going to miss all of those girls but it’s been a good ride.

Sorry I’ve been MIA blog people. My real job has been kickin’ my A*S this week and I haven’t had the time to post.
Anyways, this is the last week of the Stand Up and Scrap competition that I’ve been participating in. I must say overall I’ve been disappointed with the results every week. I haven’t placed once in the top ten which I hoped to at least once. Some of the layouts are amazing and I agree with the judges but some I don’t. Oh well…I’m happy to say I’ve pushed myself past my comfort zone and have been doing some amazing designs. I wasn’t going to share until the competition was over but I WANT TO!
Since I just saw my little niece, Kayley the other day and realized I don’t show enough girl layouts here is one I did of her and I. I thought it came out sweet. What do you think? And if you check out the gallery you can see my other layouts =P

We saw the play, Cyrano De Bergerac on Friday night with my gal Jennifer Garner and Kevin Kline. The story of Cyrano is about a soulful poet/philosopher, brilliant swordsman and a cadet in the French Army (Kline) who falls for the beautiful, strong-willed Roxane (Garner), but is too ashamed of his large nose to tell her. Instead, when he learns that she loves the handsome Christian de Neuvillette, his dim-witted comrade, he pens poetry and love letters to Roxane on Christian’s behalf. After many years, the truth is revealed.
Anyways, the overall story was good somewhat rushed at times as well as hard to understand the big and verbose words and speeches but for the most part I liked it. Some of the words were definitely over my head though. LOL. So back to Jennie G…we were like 10 feet from her. She was pretty good and sometimes you could see her personality shine through which wasn’t the character but it was awesome to see her! Plus Kevin Kline was amazing in his role which made you forget he is Kevin Kline. We also got to see Casey Affleck in the audience as well after the show outside the theatre while we watched for Jennifer to come out. I was hoping to be up close and get her autograph but there were tons of people and it was a mod scene. I would also hoping to see Ben or Victor Garber from Alias. That would have been awesome – love him! =)
My husband had a great idea the night before the show. He suggested we get the candy, Razzles to bring to the play to have Jen sign them since they were a big part of the story in her movie 13 Going On 30. I didn’t think much about it until the night of the show and decided to go and look for Razzles. Do you know how hard it is to find Razzles in a pinch when you need them? Well I’ll tell you…I searched for 45 minutes in tons of stores before I met John to head to dinner/show. I finally gave up and I made one last ditch effort at the train station candy store, which I thought would be a loss since it’s a small counter in the train station. Anyways, there were the Razzles on the counter just taunting and laughing at me. I swear I could hear them say, “Duh, we’ve been here the whole time silly lady!” So I have my Razzles now and I think this is a good sign to have Jennie sign them. In all honesty I wanted her to sign one pack and the other pack I was going to give her with my business card on it. I think she would love a custom scrapbook of her daughter and for her family. This is my new mission for my business. I’m nuts but you can’t say I don’t have gumption! So nevertheless there was a mob outside the theatre after the show so I missed her and the Razzle exchange. The Razzles are now back in my apartment glearing at me. LOL!
So in a nutshell the show was great, Jennie rocked and radiated beauty and class like you see her do in magazines and on tv. And I will land her as a client someday for a scrapbook and if not you can’t say I didn’t try. My friends have been joking with me lately that I’m turning in to a Jennie G stalker but I call it ambitious & enterprising entrepreneurialism and according to Cyrano de Bergerac you need to have enormous panache to get ahead in life!

I know I have been a bad blogger this week. Work has been busy and haven’t had much time to chat. I’ll make some time this weekend for some updates. And hopefully after seeing Jennifer Garner TONIGHT I’ll have more to tell you. He he he.

So this past weekend we went to Target to get some goodies and odds and ends. When we were checking out the cashier noticed that we had a lot of green items which isn’t a surprise if you know me. I pulled out my green wallet from my green purse and the cashier basically started harassing me cause I liked green. She thought it was too much and she would “pray for me.” What the hell is that about?! I was being polite and tolerating her but I was kinda getting pissed and miffed over this. What gives her the right to judge me because I like the color green a lot! I know my love of green is excessive and somewhat out of control BUT some of the things I buy just happen to be green. I don’t buy Sweet Mint Orbitz gum because it’s green but because I like it!
Sorry for my rant but I needed to share that and get it off my chest. I feel a bit better now but don’t expect me to “degreen” myself anytime soon. I am glad that an extra person is going to pray for me though. Speaking of Target I found these awesome green owl PJ pants on sale. I only saw them in green, so I had no choice.
Anyways, the rest of the weekend was nice. Saw some friends, ate at a cool kitschy place, took a bunch of pictures and chilled out. John and I walked around the Lower East Side yesterday and hit up some stores and veggie stands we’ve been meaning to check out. Can’t believe it’s back to work again today. I’ll share some photos from the weekend tomorrow.
I need to get some things done this week and also work on my Stand of and Scrap Layout #4. I’m starting to lose motivation for this contest but will try to keep going. I want to share with you but this whole anonymous thing…I might show you anyways. LOL!
It’s finally starting to feel like Fall and I’m loving it! Nothing says Fall like crisp air and finally getting to wear my new sweatshirts.
