Jot It Down

I’ve been reconnecting lately with old friends from high school and even grammar school. While I’m excited by getting inĀ  touch with people and catching up I’m realizing I don’t remember lots of things. I know you lose your memory when you get older but I’m finding it harder and harder to recall things I thought I would never forget. So this has made me realize I need to jot things down and try better to journal even the small things.

Worked on a layout this weekend of the highlights from our Chicago trip. Good thing when I got back from my trip I tried to make sure to just journal the key events and sights down. This is a perfect was to help me remember it all someday.

Also, on Friday I was surprised when I got to work. There were several statues from one of my favorite artists, Romero Britto. I was so glad I had my camera with me that day! Cool! Check out the other photos here on my Flickr.

Vintage Baby

Found this photo while looking for something and thought it was classic and had to share!! Vintage 1987 baby! Sadly the Mets lost the other night which was just bad but I almost catch a ball and got to see Davey up close at batting practice. All in all it was a good time. Photos to come soon. Going back to work tomorrow after my week off and I can’t say I’m too excited about it. Blah!

Busy Bee

I’ve been off the past few days and we have been super busy! I’m so tired and sore today from the past few days. I’ll try to catch you up though. =)

Wednesday was our 3rd wedding anniversary. We took the Staten Island Ferry over to Staten Island for a walk around. We saw the 9/11 memorial that is over there. Wonderful views and so nice and quiet! Took a water taxi over to the Brooklyn Bridge/Fulton Ferry Landing. We finally got to get some awesome ice cream from the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory! After that we had some Gramboli’s pizza. I know ice cream before pizza? crazy! We topped off the end of the day with a brisk walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. A lot for one day I know!?

Thursday we both took care of same business things and decided to tackle Governors Island on Friday. Governors Island is pretty big and amazing to see. We rented bikes for free and took a ride around the island. I haven’t been on a bike in years and it was a lot of fun to put the peddle to the metal again. Maybe a bike is in my future? Not sure in this city but it sure is fun to be a tourist in my own town sometimes.

Saturday we spent the day in NJ seeing the family. The kids are a blast and after walking over a bridge and biking riding it’s VERY hard to keep up with them!! LOL! I need to get in shape to do that on a regular basis. =P

Today, I’m trying to catch up on things. Been scrapping and designing. Had to archive tons of files to make room. Also I spent way too much money on an online auction for Dani Mogstad’s whole digi collection. I think of it as an investment though not a big purchase!

Just watched the Primetime Emmy’s before and they made me laugh. Have another busy day tomorrow as we are heading to Shea for our last Met’s game. We have really good seats and will be going early to see batting practice. Hoping to meet or see Davey Wright up close. Yum!!

Anyways, that’s a lot of stuff I just threw at ya. Be back in a few days when things return to normal.

Unique Creations

Here’s a cool poster I saw when I was at CHA from the Kaiser Crafts company. Thought it was a perfect sentiment, it’s elegantly grungy and it’s in green! What’s not to love?

On the scrappin’ front, I’ve wrangled a great bunch of gals to help work with me on creating another Think Pink Charity Kit for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Not sure of all the details but contact me if you want to know more about the kit and stuff like that. More news on that soon =)

One final thought - enjoy every moment in this life and love everyone that is near and dear to your heart. You never know when that final day will come. Let us never forget on this special day.

A Long Time Ago In A Place Called Brooklyn…

Found this recently when going through old pictures and since schools back this week I thought it was fitting. HA HA. Funny enough I look pretty much exactly the same minus the stylish uniform. Although I would love to have a uniform now everyday!!

Like the new blog header?? Maybe I’ll have a poll tomorrow. LOL!!!

Back Home

Back from Chicago and trying to settle back into things. Had a great time although it was super HOT but it was hot here in NYC too from what I heard! I think we walked about a bizzilion miles but ate tons of good food (hot dogs, pizza and more pizza - deep dish)! Not sure how I did it but I think I gained like 7lbs in 4 days! The diet really needs to start tomorrow.

Anyways, will post pictures once I go through them -we have 500 of them. I’ll fill you in tomorrow about all the adventures and CHA. So nice to go away but so nice to be home. Can’t wait to sleep in my own bed tonight!

Leisurely Creative

Enjoyed a nice leisurely day yesterday going to lunch and some errands. The weather was gorgeous and the city is much emptier on these holiday weekends, which is such a treat! Been working today on my portfolio, some new products and client designs. I’ve been plugging away for a few hours but feel like the creativity is coming to an end. Maybe a late day shower will pep me up?

Anyways, here a cute picture of John & I from the wedding the other day. Frame from Shabby Miss Jenn. More to come…

As requested…

I promised my parents I would post on my blog the beautiful flower bouquet they gave me for my birthday. It’s funny cause they requested it be on the blog. Too funny!

Holiday Recap

I can’t believe it’s all over with…Christmas that is. It goes back faster and faster as the years go by. Anyways, I do hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday! We had a nice time with the family and the kids make it fun. My little cousins crack me up and I’m so happy we got to meet the newest addition to the clan, Baby “O”.

For the past few weeks I have been super busy trying to get 2 scrapbooks done for my little cousins for Christmas gifts. I finally finished them just in time for Christmas…phew…and I’m so happy with the way they turned out. I’m still working on all of the credits but here is a cute picture I want to share. It’s of Kayla looking at her book (which kinda gave me a heart attack since I wasn’t sure if she was going to rip it and throw it..LOL!) Anyways, she looks like she likes what she sees so that’s good. =)

Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes either by email, phone, mail, blog or in person. I really appreciated it and it put a smile on my face. My birthday is at a tough time of year so for all of you who went out of your way THANKS! And for all of my friends who did NOTHING well you suck! (I do know some of you had real reasons though) Anyways, you made me realize that from now on I’m not going out of my way for anyone anymore. I know that sounds bad but I’m sick of always being the “nice” person who does everything for everyone. Now that I’m 30 I’m not holding back..watch out! Plus I’m not that concerned about these people being offended since the people in question don’t even read my blog anyways.

Speaking of my birthday we went to see Juno which has my girl Jennie G in it. It was a cute movie and it made me laugh. I wanted more interaction between Jason Bateman and Michael Cera though since they were in Arrested Development together. Oh well..still funny.

I’m off this week and have been SUPER LAZY! Maybe I’m just burnt out from creative stuff but I’m just so tired. I guess it’s a good time of year to just chill and recharge but I feel guilty about doing nothing. Although we have been watching tons of movies, so that makes me feel like we are doing something. I am catching up on my “cinematic adventures” as Dane Cook would say. LOL!

Anyways, that’s enough rambling for me today. This is the most I’ve typed in awhile…my hands hurt. Ha ha ha!

Happy New Year and talk to you soon!

Scrap & Photo

Cutie

Here’s a layout I did of my cousin Alex from my collaborative kit,
Action Jackson
. Love the Quick Page that Audra did for this one!

And I’ll leave you with a cool shot I took the other day while in
Brooklyn. I played around with this in Lightroom and I think it
came out pretty cool!
